says Rachel Weisz in the 2008 film, The Brothers Bloom.
“The more it tells you, the less you know.”
This film is an odd, twisted and whimsical ride focusing on two con artist brothers (Adrien Brody and Mark Ruffalo) trying to scam an eccentric millionaire out of her cash.
Lighthearted and accessible, this is a movie with a whole lot of style and a deceptive cast of characters that will have you wondering what scenes are genuine feelings and what scenes are all part of the plan. Overlooked at the time of its release, it is the perfect film to catch on your couch at home.
“Nevertheless, the fact is that there is nothing as dreamy and poetic, nothing as radical, subversive, and psychedelic, as mathematics. It is every bit as mind blowing as cosmology or physics… and allows more freedom of expression than poetry, art, or music… Mathematics is the purest of the arts, as well as the most misunderstood.” - Paul Lockhart
I know I’ve posted this before, but it’s always worth revisiting. So great.
